I was ripped off by my cab driver, extremely overcharged and he took my card, ran through the payment prompts very quickly on his own and gave himself a large tip without ever giving me the option. I felt completely taken advantage of, being a tourist and single female, my ride was at 5:30am on a Sunday morning. It was still dark out and I felt like I didn't have a choice to argue with him or get out of the cab. I have attempted to contact them via email and phone calls/messages with no response. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Lastnight we got a ride from one of your drivers who was going almost 100mph on the freeway He didn’t slow down and when he exited the freeway he was going almost 80mph on the side streets. When he stopped at the stop light he stopped in the middle of the street his car number was 1002 he was a horrible driver I felt really unsafe

Make sure you are adamant with your driver about where you're going and the route they should take. Otherwise they'll drive you in the opposite direction until you demand they take you the right way. Lovely! Save yourself the trouble and use literally any rideshare app.

horrible company; first their driver tried to rip us off by saying it took more than 45 minutes from LAX to Santa Monica due to traffic. Checked my phone and it was only 25 minutes, he was clearly going to take a detour and overcharge me.
My son left his bag pack in the taxi and we found out literally 2 min after we got out. We had the license plate of the taxi as well as the taxi number and called it in straight away but the dispatch people couldn't care less. they did not make any effort to try to retrieve my son's backpack and told me to call their 'lost and found' dept which is a bloody joke. Its a mailbox of one person (Helen) who never picks up.....
all in all a horrible experience and wouldnt recommend this taxi company when in LA

Rude and unprofessional dispatcher. I called on behalf of an elderly lady who did not have a phone. He heard me ask her for her name and said "We don't do third party calls." I mentioned that I would be waiting with her for the cab and he replied with a snide "Oh but you won't."
Condescending and presumptuous. She was an older lady with a cane, I absolutely made sure she got in her cab safely. In retrospect, I understand the purpose of policy, they don't want to deal with possible flakes, but there are better ways to state these things. Something along the lines of "Due to unfortunate past experiences, our company has a strict policy..." so on and so forth.
Old fashioned cabs are becoming obsolete. The remaining companies should put effort in delaying their eventual demise. Good customer service goes a long way.

I was picked up by cab 1126 and he was rude from the beginning. He passed me and my sons up and this other cab driver made him take us. When I got in the cab, I was trying to figure out if I had to download an app or see if I had to add my address to the tablet machine inside the cab, so when I touched it, he yelled at me to not touch it. Yes he yelled. He told me the price was going to be $19 and when I repeated the price and stated that I was just going around the corner, he yelled the price to me again. When I got home and when it was time for me to pay, he had the nerve to ask me to pay a tip. I told him no and I couldn’t at this time so he got upset and threw my suitcase in the gutter. Yes it was water there too. This is why it’s better to use Lyft. The prices are better and they actually earn their tips.

I just had the most terrible experience with Independent Cab. I politely called to book a cab and the guy on the phone bullied me about why I wouldn't just take the bus?! I didn't feel like I owed him an explanation but being a single woman alone at night, I personally didn't feel safe as I knew I would be coming back home late and simply preferred to take a cab. I was also hauling a bunch of sheets and blankets to a friends house. Unbelievable. The nerve. I'm so offended. Never Never trust this company.
